Arise: Chapter 3: Cell Block Tango

Chapter 3: Cell Block Tango
(Ayana's POV)

"We're here now, I guess. No backing out, right? Also, why did you choose the prison?"

"Ayana, I told you it'll be fine. Plus, the station was closed."

"Because we chose to come at night!"
"I agree, but then again, what good comes out of visiting prisons at night?" Dan piped in.

"Look at this place. The lights are on." Only Kriss would be so adventurous in the dark.

"Plus, by the way it sounds, there's hardly anyone inside. And anyway, how long ago was someone arrested?"

We decided to sit still for a moment, not like we were waiting on anything or anyone.

"Oh and to answer your question: Two months ago." I spat out, unable to hold anything else in.

Soon, it was time.

"Uhm, hello, are you kidding? Lady? Wake up?" I snapped my fingers in her face.

Impolite, I know, but today's not my day.

"Just our luck. The receptionist thought she could nap on the job."

She snapped awake, pushing the hair out of her face.
"I'M AWAKE! Hi ya'll, I'm Brenda. What can I do for ya?'

"May I speak to Ana Quinn. It's important."

I was shocked. That name had never came up in conversation about visiting here.

"Uh, well I sure hope you be quick. We'll just talk to Sheriff Colin Bradshaw, just Dan and I."

"Ugh, whatever, up the lift, to the immediate right. Bye now."

Well she was certainly pleasant.
"Come on Dan. We have a sheriff to talk to."

Elevator here we come.

(Kriss's POV)
Ana. The queen of rebellion. Once, she stole a camera purely to snap a photo of a few plants here and there. I know, it sounds silly, but she's been there since my first days of university, and when I found out she was in prison, my jaw dropped. I imagined she was caught stealing or something, but I needed the details.
"Ana? What the hell are you doing here?"

"Kriss, I need to explain. It wasn't like last time. I didn't steal."

"What did you do?"

"Well, when you catch someone cheating, what else do you do? Killing them was worth it."

"You killed your boyfriend? What the hell? And why did you say 'them', Ana?"

"Well, it wasn't just him, you know. I caught him cheating with my sister. My fricken sister!"

"Oh, Ana, I'm so sorry."

(Ayana's POV)
"So, I guess Kriss had more secrets that we didn't know. Who is Ana? Why is she here?"

"Calm down, Aya, she'll explain things when we see her next."

 Here it is.

One breath. Things will be fine.

Another breath. She's just a friend of Kriss, that's all.

One last breath. In we go.
"I was expecting you, I presume. My name is Colin Bradshaw. Behind you is Miss Christine Valle, she's a...friend of mine. A journalist."
"Hello sir. My name is Dan Bauer, and this is Ayana Yuki. We're here about our friend Sylvia Cahill. She's...well...gone missing. Any clue on what could be coming on, sir?"

"I'm-believe it or not-on that exact case. Well, a similar case that is. We happen to have caught mysterious bodies appearing at the cemetery, but with no explanation. Could you describe your friend?"

"Christine, I'm stumped on one thing you said. If these said bodies are appearing in the graveyard, then are you sure it's not zombie season?"

"Colin, please, there hasn't been a full moon since two weeks ago."

"That's odd. Two weeks, huh? Dan, what did you say happened two weeks ago?"

"Well, that's when we moved here, remember."

"Interesting." I could hear Christine's voice wisping towards my neck.

"I'd say this all seems to lead back to you two. Let me check something."

(Kriss's POV)

Something changed within me. Something was not the same. I had to talk to Ana, face to face, without a glass wall blocking us.

One last set of stairs. One more journey before I can finally hug Ana.

Why did she even kill them anyway? I thought she trusted her boyfriend.

(Red Kriss's POV)
"Let it go, Kriss. Ana's not worth it, sweetheart."

"I've got you now."
"Right after I get to you."

"Goodbye, little innocent Brenda. No-one will miss you anyway."

"This place is rather large, isn't it? Too bad it's in the wrong hands."

"My precious. I like the taste of success."

"Is there someone behind me? Nah, it must be just the wind."

Wrong, sweetie. No wind here.

Just me and you.
 Only you and I.
"Bye bye lovey. Enjoy that sleep of yours."

"I'll enjoy silence for a while."

Now, to the roof.

(Ayana's POV)
"How do we even know if we're still safe here? Why don't we move to Riverview or something. This place always seemed so eerie." I cry out, sick of all this stressing.
"Hey, we don't even know if Kriss is safe!"

"Hey, she'll be fine. I'm sure Colin has this place locked enough that none of the crims can get out."

"You're wrong about that one, Danny boy. No door is locked for me. Maybe, you're next?"

"About now, the dream poison should kick in. Have fun in prison, Krissy."

"It's a tough life murdering your loved ones."

(Kriss's POV, dream sequence.)
Why the hell am I dressed like this? And my hair? Didn't know it was that curly.

Wait, who's that. Why do they look exactly like me? With my current hair? And current dress?

"I am you, sweetie. Enjoy the show, darling."

 Cynthia: POP!
 Meg: SIX!
 Kylie: SQUISH!
 Sara-Rose: UH-OH
 Ana: CICERO!
 Lena: LIPSCHITZ!
Cynthia: POP!
Meg: SIX!
Kylie: SQUISH!
Sara-Rose: UH-OH
Ana: CICERO!
Lena: LIPSCHITZ!

All: He had it coming, he had it coming, he only had himself to blame. If you'd have been there, if you'd have seen it, I bet you, you would have done the same.

 Cynthia: POP!
 Meg: SIX!
 Kylie: SQUISH!
 Sara-Rose: UH-OH
 Ana: CICERO!
 Lena: LIPSCHITZ!

 Cynthia: POP!
 Meg: SIX!

 Ana: CICERO!
 Lena: LIPSCHITZ!
Cynthia: You know how people have these little habits that get you down. Like Gregory. Gregory he liked to chew on his frog legs, no not chew, pop! So I came home this one day and I'm really irritated, and I'm looking for a little bit of sympathy, and there's Gregory, lying on the recliner, drinking some nectar, and chewing. No, not chewing, poppin!
Cynthia: So I said to him, I said, "You pop those frog legs one more time.." And he did. So, I took the shotgun off the wall and fired two warning shots, into his head!

All: He had it coming, he had it coming, he only had himself to blame. If you'd have been there, if you'd have seen it, I bet you, you would have done the same.

Meg: I met Don when I was homeless about two years ago, and he told me he was rich and single, and we hit it off right away. So we started living together. He'd go to work, he'd come home, I'd fetch him a drink and we'd have dinner.
Meg: But then I found out. Single, he told me. Single my ass. Not only was he married, oh no. He had six children. One of those legacy founders, you know. So, that night when he came home from work, I fixed him his dinner, as usual. You know, someone guys just can't hold their food down.

All: He had it coming, he had it coming, he only had himself to blame. If you'd have been there, if you'd have seen it, I bet you, you would have done the same.

Kylie: Now I'm standing in my bedroom, cutting the loose ends off my hair, minding my own business, and in storms my husband Jeremy in a jealous rage. "You've been messing with your hair again!"
Kylie: He was crazy, and he kept on screaming. "You've been messing with your hair again!" And then he ran into my scissors, he ran into my scissors 10 times.

All: He had it coming, he had it coming, he only had himself to blame. If you'd have been there, if you'd have seen it, I bet you, you would have done the same.
Sara-Rose: Mit keresek, йn itt? Azt mondjбk,
hogy a hнres lakem lefogta a fйrjemet йn meg
lecsaptam a fejйt. De nem igaz, йn бrtatlan
vagyok. Nem tudom miйrt mondja
Uncle Sam, hogy йn tettem. Probбltam
a rendхrsйgen megmagyarбzni de nem йrtettйk meg...
Ana: Yeah, but did you do it?

Sara-Rose: Uh-oh, not guilty.

Ana: My sister Allison and I had our own photography business, and my boyfriend Mick used to travel around with us. Now, for the last photos in each set, we did about 20 edits, one, two, three, four, five, splits, spread eagles, backflips, flip flops, one right after the other.
Ana: Well, this one night, we were in the hotel Cicero, the three of us, boozin' and takin' a few photo shots, when we run out of memory, so I go out to get some. I come back, open the door, and there's Allison and David, doing number seventeen: The Spread Eagle! Well, I was in such a state of shock I completely blacked out, I can't remember a thing. It wasn't until later when I was snapping a photo alone I even knew they were dead!

Ana: They had it coming, they had it coming, they had it coming all along! I didn't do it, but if I'd done it, I bet ya, you would have done the same!

Lena: I loved Pete Lipschitz more than I could possibly say. He was a real family guy, sensitive, a father. But, he'd always go out looking for himself, and on the way, he found Tina, Diane, Polly and Salma.
Lena: I guess you could say we broke up because of family issues. He saw himself as a dad, and I saw him dead!
All: The dirty bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. The dirty bum, bum, bum, bum, bum.

All: They had it coming, they had it coming all along! Cause if they used us, and they abused us, how could you tell us that we were wrong!

Cynthia: POP!
Meg: SIX!
Kylie: SQUISH!

 Sara-Rose: UH-OH
Ana: CICERO!
Lena: LIPSCHITZ
My mind tinged at the loud beeping that followed.

I collapsed onto the floor.

UGH!

"Thanks for looking after my sweethearts, Kriss. I'm glad they were taken care of."

"Anything for you, Sylvia. Are we all clear?"
"Yes dear, that Colin fellow didn't suspect a thing. Thought his lovely Christine alive and healthy, and he knew nothing of us. And you? I can see you brought the girl."

"It was easy once I was inside. Glad we knocked Brenda off."

"Four already huh? Good job, Kriss, but it's Dan's turn now. Let him wreck havoc in town."

"Isn't it such a lovely night? Perfect for revenge."

"Yes, Sylvia."
